How this is computed
- Your pay maps to a Monthly Salary Credit (MSC) in ₱500 steps, from ₱5,000 (₱8,000 for OFWs) to ₱35,000.
- Contribution is 15% of the MSC. Employees: employer 10%, employee 5%. Self-employed and OFWs pay the full 15%.
- The first ₱20,000 of MSC is regular SSS. Anything above goes to MPF savings.
- EC: ₱10 below ₱15,000 MSC, ₱30 from ₱15,000. Not charged to OFWs.
- Not covered: voluntary and non-working spouse members, kasambahay, sea-based OFWs.
Questions
What is the SSS contribution rate in 2026?
15% of your Monthly Salary Credit. For employees, the employer pays 10% and the employee pays 5%. This is the January 2025 schedule, which still applies in 2026.
What is MPF?
The Mandatory Provident Fund. The part of your salary credit above ₱20,000 (up to ₱15,000 more) goes to your own MPF savings account instead of the regular SSS fund.
What is EC?
Employees' Compensation: ₱10 a month when the salary credit is below ₱15,000, ₱30 from ₱15,000 up. Employers pay it for employees; self-employed members pay their own.
